چکیده
The article deals with a possibilities of an enhancement functional properties highly stressed components by specific combination surface technology. Two technologies such as plasma nitriding and laser shock peening were selected for the experiment. Those applied upon steel 42CrMo4 frequently utilized in manufacturing strained components. Properties obtained tested following experimental methods. chemical composition was verified optical emission spectrometer Tasman Q4 Bruker. morphology inspected scanning electron microscope TESCAN MIRA 4. microstructure heat treated well nitrided specimens observed opto-digital Olympus DSX500i. microhardness profiles measured tester LM247 AT LECO. friction coefficient on tribometer Bruker UMT 3 TriboLab. For assessment wear resistance profilometer Talysurf CLI 1000 Contour GT utilized. results show that although proposed technology manifests itself to be disadvantageous, both LSP, nitriding, separately, can lead significant reduction.

Characterization of Plastic Deformation Induced by Microscale Laser Shock Peening
Electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) is used to investigate crystal lattice rotation caused by plastic deformation during high-strain rate laser shock peening in single crystal aluminum and copper sample on ~11̄0! and (001) surfaces. New experimental methodologies are employed which enable measurement of the in-plane lattice rotation under approximate plane-strain conditions. Crystal lattice ...

The response of materials after microscale laser shock peening (mLSP) was experimentally characterized and compared with the theoretical prediction from FEM analysis in microlength level. Since mLSP is predominantly a mechanical process instead of a thermal process, the characterization focuses on mechanical properties and associated microstructures. An X-ray microdiffraction technique was appl...

متن کاملMassive parallel laser shock peening: Simulation, analysis, and validation
Laser shock peening (LSP) is a transient process with laser pulse duration time on the order of 10 ns, real time in situ measurement of laser/material interaction is very challenging. LSP is usually performed in a massively parallel mode to induce uniform compressive residual stress across the entire surface of the workpiece. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effects of parallel m...
